73 les Paul custom. Real?
http://miami.craigslist.org/pbc/msg/2777966226.html
Can anyone tell by the pics if this is a total fake or real? |

It's hard to tell, but I don't see any reason that leads me to believe it's fake. The headstock and decal look correct for a 73'.
EDIT: On second thought, I'm not sure if the case is right, at least for that year.

That's the way they bursted the neck and headstock.

Is the price accurate?

It's within reason, if the pickups aren't original as it says, that will affect the price. I'd say $1500 on that is a good deal if you could talk him down to it, but $1700 isn't out of line, if it's in good shape.

Look at the Gibson logo in the headstock......no dot over the i in Gibson, which is correct for that period. If it has no breaks and is otherwise in good condition, $1700 is a good price.
