So my DD-2 is broken, now the repeats are trebly and gross and it self oscillates

I took my DD-2 in to get fixed for making popping sounds when i turned it on and off, and after the guy "fixed it up" the repeats were all trebly and horrible and it started self oscillating into a tin of grotesque distortion. It used to have beautiful dark blue, glue like repeats

Anyway I don't really have much of a legal case against him, even though he obviously ****ed it up, just because technically it was already malfunctioning I guess, and the cost of the pedal isnt really worth drawing a whole thing out but....

Is this fixable? I love my carbon copy, but it's delays don't give me that same magical toothpaste feel as the DD-2.

This makes me sad...

My rig would be sorely lacking without my big chip DD-3. My favourite delay. I hope you can get it fixed!

Yeah, mine was technically a big chip DD-3, just said DD-2 to make it more clear cut.

I also took it into a better pedal tech and he wasn't able to fix it. But I'm not ready to give up yet...

Though a part of me feels that any fixing would just involve moving some things around and then it still wouldnt be the tone i remember :\

Don't worry; I often do this too.

But there is a risk of that, I guess. But if Pete Cornish can make a new circuit out of it, you'd hope that it can be repaired to its original form? I don't know; electronics are completely beyond me!

If you own a shotgun, broken pedals make very satisfying skeet.

Same thing happened to my big chip DD3, it doesn't self oscillate, but engaging the pedal creates pretty awful sounding trebly repeats. My DD2 still holds up well.

Long long shot, get a q tip with alcohol on it and clean both 1/4 inch jacks.
I had a dd-3 that was acting funky and this cleared it right up. Q tips looked like I had cleaned a sewer.
