Iron Gym pull up bar questions

I've got one of these but I lost the little metal tab that you place inbetween the trim and wall above the door. As far as I can remember that tab didn't do much, seems like the bar should stay put fine without it.

Just wondering if anyone has experience/thoughts.

Mine came out as well. Not a big deal though. Works fine without it.

We have one. I think that tab is more to keep it in place when it's not in use. In case someone bumps it.

That's what I was thinking, I can't see it really helping in anyway when you're hanging on it.

Never used the tab, never had a problem, but i don't leave it up in the doorframe when i'm not using it.

We've had one up in a doorframe, unused, for years!

I love this: workout equipment must be among the most dust collecting paraphernalia ever invented.
