analog multi effect - Vintage Revolution PedalPro

Hi everyone,

here's the introduction video to the PedalPro by Vintage Revolution. It's an analog multi-effect with digital control. It's me playing.
What do you think?

best,
Roger

I thought all of those sounds were great, Roger. Looking forward to hearing more. Interesting foot controller as well...

I like that you can control the depth of the effect with the foot controller. The effects sound good but not sure how easy it would be to jump from one patch to another in a live setting. I'm used to having a controller where I change the patch to another amp im then have other buttons to turn different effects on and off as in the RP1000 and HD500. Nice playing BTW.

Hi Whitop,
changing patches is easy because the sensitivity of the pads is programmable, so that you can adjust them to your weight and preference.
Thanks, take care!
Roger

Looks to be about $2600 for the system, if my conversion is right.

That sounds right. What do you think about that price? To me it seems good, when i compare to my considerably less-hot sounding pedalboard...

Doesn't seem fair to base any opinion of the price on a 4 min. video

It's a great idea and the tones sound nice, and the market will determine if the price is appropriate vis-a-vis the digital options.

I would love that if it had the digital control to accept MIDI program change commands-I have a big L.A. Sound Design rack and would love something like this that I could incorporate into my rig and select presets via my CAE RS-10 foot controller.

You're right, the only way to establish any kind of opinion about the quality and the price of this thing, is to play it yourself.
For me, the quality of the OD and distortions alone is enough to justify the price tag. But everyone has their own taste especially when it comes to od/dist. There may be a lot of people entirely happy with their digital distortions.

I guess the market is kind of small at this price level, but the people who appreciate analog tone will probably know how to find them.

Hi Todd, thanks for that.
The reason that it doesn't have MIDI in (it only has MIDI out, so it can control the outside world) is that MIDI has the obvious limitation of 128 steps.
For studio-quality control of the parameters, working with these 128 steps is not really an option.
However, most players who tried and bought the unit up til now are content to use the footcontroller. The footcontroller is non-mechanical, eg silent. That means you can sit in front of your amp in the studio while recording, and use the footcontroller without clicking or switching noises.
Hope this explains.

The foot-controller wouldn't be something I would want. Iuse a big 18 space rack built by L.A. Sound Design with a tube preamp, rack compressor, Parametric eq, noise reduction, a pair of Korg SDD-2K DDL's, TC 1210 chorus and Eventide Eclipse all running in parallel into a line mixer in stereo with an Effect Gizmo Audio Looper controlled by a CAE RS-10 and an HH Power Amp. I would love analog effects with programmability and of course the aforementioned MIDI preset/program change abilities.

That sounds like a cool setup, but bar the reverbs (not available cuz of obviously being fully analog), i think the Pedalpro could easily replace most of it, in terms of sound quality. But i guess if you are really into the complicated big rack thing, you'll stick with that.

For me, i drive to my gigs myself and have no roadies, so it really works to finally have a multi-fx that produces that big, fat tone i look for.
Roger

Hey Soli,
here's another sample (.wav) of the delay.
