Badger 18 + closed back 1x12 + which speaker?

For those of you who've had the pleasure of playing with the Badger 18 head and used a closed back 1x12 cabinet, what's been your speaker of choice?

I've got the head and the cab in house and the following speakers available for tryout:

Celestion Blue
V30
70th Anniversary G12H
WGS Blackhawk Alinco (50 watts)
Eminence RW&B

While I know I could spend and afternoon trying them all, because of my advance age and tough decades (70s and 80s) I fear comparing by memory will be difficult at best.

Tnx for your feedback.

I have the Suhr 1x12 which is closed back to go with my Badger 18. I put a WGS Veteran 30 in it. The folks at Suhr said it was designed for the Vintage 30 but they were changing to the WGS. I have it paired with a second open-back 1x12 that has a WGS Reaper HP. I've been curious about putting some of my other speaker in also but these sound great to my ears.

I also suffer from some of that challenged memory stuff. I no longer try to remember how what I just heard relates to what I heard previous. If it sounds good then great. If it sounds orgasmic then leave it alone. I've spent way to much money wondering if A sounds better than B when I can barely remember what I did yesterday.

Well, depends on what music your playing. For me, Sometimes I use a scumback h75 (H30 type) so I have the chime and bottom end for the nice cleans or M75 (greenback) for more vintage rock mid tones or the v30 when I was a more modern heavy rock sound. Really depended on my gig I had. FWIW, I liked all my speakers in the cab (suhr 1x12). Worked really well with my other amps. (Reinhardt, marshall, etc...)

I have one cab with a v30 and another with a Scumback m75 65 watt. Together they are very full, love the tone. For home if I'm using only one cab I like the Scumbacks' fuller tone but if I take only one cab for live I like the v30 for the way it cuts.

If your cab is not the Suhr 1x12, I would play it safe and go with the 65 watt Scumback M75. That speaker sounds great with the 18 or the 30. If it is the Suhr 1x12 a V30 or Veteran 30 are also nice choices, Personally I would till stay with the M75 unless the price was a dealbreaker. Then I'd go Vet 30.

i've been on a G12H kick lately so i'll vote for that. i just put a WGS Reaper HP (50W version of the G12H) in a 1x12 cab and i think it's awesome. might be a better option because it's higher power handling. plus they say the HP is ever so slightly smoother top end and and i think a bigger bottom too. it was their hands down recommendation to me for a 1x12.

fwiw i didn't like the V30 by itself in that 1x12 cab. too harsh. (it was a new Chinese one)

Ive got the Badger 30. I didn't care for the V30 myself and replaced them with Scumback M75 and H75 in my two Suhr 1X12's - couldn't be more content.

I have the Suhr 1x12 with a 65watt scumback M75 in it and thought it sounded fantastic with that amp.
