Man, the world's your oyster once you jump to actives...lotta cool preamp kits out there. How do you feel about the dynamic touch response of your guitar with actives? I've never tried 'em, just a set on a bass. Some folks gripe 'em for being sterile.

BTW, can you get the new Antares system as a kit without buying a Peavey or Parker guitar wrapped around it? Haven't actually played one, but if it's anything like the old Variax electronics, you'll get the massive versatility at the cost of some dynamic response, a bit of piezo quack, some EQ coloring, and note decay tha truncates at the far end right before a real ax would completely trail off. Not big differences by any stretch, just worth knowing about...except at extremes, your audience won't hear 'em at all.

Yup. I have triple shots on one of my guitars and they're fun.

I've been thinking about putting Triple Shots on my Les Paul. It has a piezo and a coil split already, so I'd probably repurpose the coil split into a phase switch. As it is I can get 13 different tones out of my LP instead of just 3...

With the triple shots, let's see... a bit of quick math tells me there'd be... 4 neck only tones, 4 bridge only tones, 16 tones in phase, 16 tones out of phase, for 38 tones all total, from the magnetic pickups alone.

Add the piezo into the mix and you'd double that (each of the tones above + piezo) for 76 tones, plus one pure piezo, and you'd have 77 tones.

From one Les Paul.

Cool.
Cool.

My fav is 2 tapped P90's with a MegaSwitch utilizing part of the Donahue schem. and taps are variable(concentric pot). Variable tapping offer endless tweaks to settings.
Donahue gets Strat #2 and #4 positions out of std. Tele and tone can be assigned to any position.
Taps are Strat spec. and in series there may not be a better tone on earth. lol
