Bumping this one from a bunch of pages back!

Anybody know anything about this?

I would dismiss that until there are pictures to see
AFAIK there is no new new guitar synth, Roland wouldn't release a new one less than a year after the last one.

I've got a GT-5 (hopefully soon a GT-100).

Amp return is the way to go. Maybe with an EQ pedal for room to room differences.

Definitely tighter bottom.

Nothing new to report yet, a few on the GT-Central forum who have pre-ordered have now had the creditcard charges processed, so that must mean shipping is very soon.

Nope, some billing error. Boss told me late March to early April and I'm thinking that may have been optimistic on their part. Let's not forget that Musikmesse is in a few weeks which will give the hype engine an injection and allow them the opportunity to do some more demos and get more feedback.

Sweetwater is saying 'sometime in March' but they may have old info. I've also noticed when they don't give a specific date they are just guessing anyway (they're saying week of 04/01 for the Mustang Floor, so with a specific date quoted it'll be interesting to see how accurate they are).

I can believe that this thread has been pretty quiet lately- Givin the track record of Boss, I would believe the week of Musicmesse for shipping in the US. I tried the kemper and although it was a nice unit, I will not commit to one until the performance feature and other ongoing refinements have been properly implemented making it a bit more useful and intuitive.

I went back to listening to the gt100, I do feel that it is a superior unit to the GT10, but will reserve judgement until I have a hands on situation with the GT100.

I go straight in to a PA with a Eleven rack and play to backing tracks I have created for play at wineries and private events, looking forward to that Carlton patch on the GT100.......

Hi Slotools,

What Carlton patch are you referring to?
Is there a clip somwhere?

Cheers,

Mats N

Mats,

On the video with Alex Hutchings, there is a patch called "Larry's Room," which sounds very much like a patch that Carlton would use. It comes up at 1:33 in this video http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qTesPdFsXmI.

In fact, they have at least 4 patches in this video named for other musicians or bands:

Cheeky Freak: Chic, playing Le Freak
Pass on Jazz: Joe Pass, I believe
Larry's Room: For Carlton, as above
BB's Thrill: BB King

May be more after this point.

Here's a great demo of the GT-100. Overdrive settings, looper, etc.
( A short Spanish ad precedes some great playing.)

That demo with Jack Thammarat was posted back a page or two, but you are right, that is the best demo I have seen for my purposes.
