why hasnt droid made an amp app?

Im not an iphone guy. I like my Droid. Why is there no app for a guitar amp like iPhone has? Is the technology not up to par with iPhone? Kinda blows....
That's an app I'd actually buy.

from what I understand, the OS itself cannot handle the processing needed to run the apps smoothly. you won't find any multi track recorders or amp sim apps because of the lag the OS creates.

It's not up to "Droid" to make aps, third parties do that and so far no one has. Seems to me like there's a market. Droid and IPhone sales are pretty close but for some reason everyone chooses to make hardware add-ons and software aps for Apple products and while there are plenty of aps for Droids, there are practically no hardware add-ons available for Droid phones. I'm with you, I don't get it.

If I had to guess, I would say that it is because most Droid apps are written in Java, which isn't terribly good for hard-core number crunching. The disparity in hardware is because there are only a few iPhone designs and tons of Droid designs.

This is what I read on the iRig site.

There are a lot of things that the Android operating system does not do well. Add this to the list. Part of the problem is the openness of the OS. Every carrier and just about every phone has a slightly different version of the OS. This causes havoc for app development. I know from experience.

There are benefits to Apples "closed" OS and app approval process. Stuff actually works.

This is a reality for me as well. I've had a house iPad (replaced the wifes dying laptop) for about 6 months now and I received an HTC Flyer tablet as a gift and have had it about a month, which is cool to have the best of both worlds.

But....

Number of apps that crashed causing a full restart of the system:
iPad = 0
HTC = 3

I will be more excited about the HTC when GuitarPro finally comes out with the Droid app and when someone comes up with an amp app I'll be set on the Droid.
