Fender Hot Rod Deluxe (Omega mods) Cannabis Rex with Hellatone 30 or 60?

Just bought Omega Hot rod Deluxe from a forum member and its on the way with a cannabis rex. I have no experience with this speaker. I have already have a matching fender 1x12 closed back extension cab and have a Hellatone 30 and 60 on hand. Can anyone chime in on a good match or another suggestion?

Welcome to the club. Hopefully you'll love the amp as much as some of us do. Seems to me, the amp is pretty good at accepting all speakers depending on what you're looking for and what other guitarists are playing in your group, if any.

I recently pulled a Celestion Century Neo out and put a WGS ET65. I couldn't be happier. I did like the weight and clean tone of the Neo, but the overdrive didn't work as well with that speaker. I'm going to keep it and put it in another cab keep on playing it because I like the weight and I know many people love the speaker.

The Omega thread has good info on speakers in the last 4 or 5 pages. Let us know how you like it!

Thanks for the info. Been through the thread. This will be my gig rig 60s/70s tribute band everything from Aretha to Zeppelin. Just not sure what speaker would blend with the Cannabis Rex to cover all bases

I would go with a britished voiced speaker, possibly a V30 variant (like one of your Hellatones).

When I had my Hot Rod deluxe I liked it best with a Vintage 30!

hey JT -- the WGS vet 30 sounds great with that amp and would be a good speaker to put in a 112 cab b/c it sounds good with lots of stuff. you might also consider something else eminence with a similar db rating b/c the CRex is a loud speaker.
