Richie Kotzen - The Thrill is Gone
The more I hear from this gent, the more I am impressed. I thought this cover was going to turn into a high octane wankfest. Boy was I wrong. He plays this one in the pocket and just lets the music breathe. Beautiful phrasing and great tone.

Disappointing, as i usually dig everything Richie does.
While i appreciate the fact that he didn't go nuts, it was too laid back. Just because you're laying back, doesn't mean there can't still be the fire, and i didn't hear an ounce of fire. Plus the singing sounds like it's completely disconnected from what the tune is about- listen to BB sing it, and you know he means it. This was just a bland cover version. All this IMO of course.
