62 Princeton 6G2 price check needed

I'm looking at selling my verellen spaldo to buy a blackface 62 Princeton 6G2.

I want to get into a vintage amp that I can record with. This seems like the route.

What should I expect to pay?

Thanks guys!

That Spaldo cost $1500 new - expect to pay less than that for a 6G2 Princeton, I'd say tops $1100 for pristine, $800 for a no-issue player.

I got the head so it was a bit less. But that price range sounds perfect.

I just have to decide if I can let this thing go.

Thanks for the help!

No prob! Stuff like this pops up for instance:

http://www.ebay.com/itm/VINTAGE-1964...item2c627ef5e7

You grab it when it pops, then get a recap and 3-prong done, and it should be good to go.

Awesome! Thanks for the tip!

I just saw my error in the title. I'm looking at the 64 transitional era.

Would the price still be in the same range?

I was looking at these a bit last year. $900(ish) was my target price. So, yeah, I'd say Jahn is right.

yep. also, this, IMO, is the greatest guitar amp of all time. it's like it was voiced specifically for teles and strats. and that trem

i've got lots of old brown/black fenders and the 6g2 is just IT.

Just had/bought/sold one last year. It was a 62 stock minus the tubes and speaker and in good shape. I had the store install a 3-prong and give it a once over and it came to right at 1K.
