Country music is alive and well

The new Alan Jackson single hits me right in the gut. It sounds like the guitarist is channeling Vince Gill. I'm not sure if it's James Mitchell or Brent Mason.

I loathe corporate corntry like the plague...so

Two big thumbs up on this new one from AJ. This is country. Sounds like it's right out of 1992-93 before the Fall began.

It's alive and well alright. In bars all over the world where real country fans listen to real country music in order to avoid the rather bad pop music with whiney vocals that tries to pass as country now.

Kinda looks like Guthrie Trapp in the video? Nice song, glad Alan's still making good country music.

I confess that the last new country CD I bought was Alan Jackson's CD that has Bernard Purdie on drums, as crazy as that sounds. Flux is playing a lot of electric slide something on it, doing his best Derek Trucks, and pulling it off.
I talked to Bernard about this project and he said it took him a minute to get in the groove of the project but he loved doing it 'cause it was different.

I'm not much of a country fan, but I'd sure respect it a lot more if they went back to the real stuff. Alan Jackson & George Strait are the only real deal left from what I can tell......................

Buddy Miller's not too shabby. I saw him perform at the Country Music Hall of Fame a couple of summer's ago. He was artist-in-residence. I love him.
