What Pedals for what Music?

I've been playing my Strat into a Divided by 13 Amp for several years. I am just getting into pedal effects.

I realize this is a broad ranging question: Are their any references which provide a BASIC OUTLINE of what pedals are used for specific types of Music?

For example:

Beatles: Moderate Reverb, Some Compression, light Overdrive

BB King: Moderate Blues Driver and Slapback delay

Led Zeppelin: Reverb, Fuzz, Distortion, Delay
