Can Bad PWR Tube damage amp or preamp tubes??
My 6V6s are wistleling but can't afford new tubes. How long can I go like this before damage to amp happens?

It's unusual for power tubes to whistle, are you sure it's not a microphonic preamp tube? Check out this FAQ
http://www.kcanostubes.com/FAQ/FAQ.htm If one of your power tubes shorts out, it could take some other components with it. I had power tubes whistling in a Mesa 2:90. Sounded more like wind than a whistle. Other than the whistling, the tubes were working fine. I got fed up with listening to it, so I replaced them.
