Update:
Being that my 2nd set of Kerry's pickups sounded very good but lacked a little output, I decided to try and charge their magnetic poles a little more to see if I could squeeze a tad more output from them without to much pull on the strings. Well, I was successful and they sound even better. I passed my findings on to Kerry and he was very appreciative of my input and seems very open to suggestions.

Now we're collaborating on another set with a different formula to see where this tonally takes us. My Mare's are still in the #1 slot...but it will be interesting to see if we can squeeze enough tone out of this experimental set to break that barrier. It may not be possible because the Mare's are going to be a tough act to beat...so we'll see. I'm a straight shooter and I'll call them as I hear them.

I had a chat with him and he'll ship to Canada. Asked for someting big and beefy and he recommended his "Jeff Beck" set which isn't listed. I'll post an opinion when I get them installed. He's about 5 days behind in build cycle so I should have them in a couple of weeks or so. Seems like really nice guy and easy to talk to.

I just sent this fiesta Red Dano to Jarcata Indonesia w/ Kelly's pickups installed - the 1st set I'd tried

it was his "vintage" wind w/ a NON RW middle and it really sounded great

the guy receieved it over the weekend and among his nice comments was:

" and the pickups ?? AAhhh... I'm in strat heaven "

I immediately ordered 2 more sets - as well as 2 of his Texas Special sets

I just bought a set of Tim White Timbuckers on ebay for 900.00 (ya I know I know) the worst part is they were DOA and now the seller is not standing behind them because I brought them to a guitar tech to install, how crazy is that? I escalated the case but in case ebay sides with him I need to locate Tim White to have these repaired if possible.
Man am I burning from this experience.

Thats what I was thinking too, but from the way it sounds that extra zero isn't really extra. Wow!
I finally have had some time to play the second set that I bought from kerry the other day. It's more of a vintage set than the first "texas style" that I purchased. Im not sure if the set overall is the same as any of the styles that he has on ebay or not. I think its kind of a custom set. I told him what I wanted and they showed up like they are. I know the bridge pup had mixmatched mags in it and has a really unique tone. I'm not much of a bridge pup user but it sounds really cool for solo stuff. Not thin or ice picky at all. I think that had to do with the A2's on the b&e strings. I had previously never used a pickup worth that setup before and I like it alot. The A5&A2mix with a lower output wind gives a nice vintage sound while keeping the bridge full. The neck and mid are all A5 I'm pretty sure. The neck pickup I was told is something special and boy did he come thru with that. Its wound with all NOS write from 1960 something that he came across. I don't know if that had anything to do with it our not our if the winding just fell together right. The neck is extremely sensitive to pick attack and can get downright dirty with a little overdrive but just lightening up on attack it will clean right up. The notes are really defined and clear. Like I told kerry in an email, it almost made my playing a little sloppy until I got used to it because the notes are so well defined and clear when played clean. I've got them set alittle lower than I normally do and that opened them up nicely. I might try that on some other guitars to see what happens. I only use the middle on the in between settings and they are great as well. Just like a strat should sound. Both sets are great. They can do anything from a long sustaining, overdriven blues tune to a happy jazz tune with the tone knob rolled off, (even on the bridge pup of this new set).
My next venture is to try his tele set out. I've recently aquired a pine bodied tele and just recieved the pickup set for it from kerry saturday. I hope to get them installed tonight or tomorrow!!!

Finally got my strat together and fired her up. I have the Vinage set in mine. Sounds really good. It's been a while since I've heard some of my other favorites (Van Zandts, Lollar). It's strattier sounding than my Suhr Classic in more of a vintage way. What I do notice is that I like the middle position, which I usually don't on it's own. I'm still tweaking it.

Question: I have a wiring kit from Acme Guitar Works. The neck pickup turns of completely when the middle tone knob is on 10? I have to turn it down to 8-9 for the full neck pickup and from there on it just adjust the tone as normal.

I wiring is exactly like the diagram provided. Anyone know if this is normal for some wiring types or perhaps I received a bad pot?

Ok, a more thorough review now. First, I fixed the problem mentioned above. I accidentally connected the cap on the middle tone to the 2 outside terminals and ground.

Some observations of these pickups...

1. Nice percussive bark to them. If you've ever heard a Bruno and a vintage Fender I would draw the same comparison between these and other boutique pickups I've tried. The vintage fender as a sharper attack and more of a ping to the note, were the Bruno is smoother and has more of a rounded top end. These pickups would be the Fender and the others I've tried would be the Bruno.

2. Like I said the middle pickup is the most usable I've heard. I cared for the the middle pickups in strats unless mixed with the bridge or neck.

3. The neck pickup sounds like a neck pickup usually does but clearer. Still has that sharp attack described in #1.

4. Here's the weird thing. These pickups sound totally different with blackface than they do with tweed. With my LE Buster they sound dark and much more rounded. Through the Buster these pickups sound darker than my Les Pauls. Through my Carr Rambler these pickups sound brighter than my Les Pauls. Very strange. you would figure a brighter pickup would be a brighter pickup regardless of the amp??
