Well said Pete. Very sad and way too early. IMO this sort of thing happens way more often than you might think in and around airports. It's very important when on long international flights to take necessary precautions to avoid blood clotting. This may have been a very tragic example.

I have a book called 'Picture The Blues' by Susan Antone that has a ton of great photos from Antone's. Don't know if it's available any more but it's worth getting. That early one of the T-Birds on the Antone's website (KW in turban, JLV in suit with guitar strap over shoulder Freddie King style, KF with long hair & Andy Miller on drums) isn't in there, but there's many more.

Alex - thank you for the mouth-watering reports from Holland. Sounds great! Those three vids of the Nightcats with Charlie Baty playing your guitar make me remember again what an incredible player Charlie is.

I loved the clip of the Tilt-A-Whirl band. Ephraim Owens is badass on trumpet.

IIRC that band was essentially Willie Nelson's backup band as their own entity.... or "titty" as the case may be.

There were two Susan Antone foto books, I have 'em both, signed by her.
I also have some fotos she snapped of me playing with Hank Ballard @ Antone's around '86. Tux, mullet, and a red Strat... Luv the eighties, baby!

Michael Burks. Opened for him one night in a small blues club in Atlanta. Bad storm that night and he had driven in from Arkansas that afternoon. Club had maybe 10 people. He was very serious, I don't remember seeing him smile. First time I had heard his music. I remember thinking how much he sounded like Duane Allman, but with no slide. Remarkable player. Had a great band too. Really sad thing here.

I've really gotten into this iPod on my phone thing over the past year. It's the playlists that I really love.

My favorite playlist is Nemeth's "Come and get It" plus Lynwood Slims "Lost in America", and Lynwood's "Brazilian Kicks" with Igor Prado all combined together. Put it on shuffle and off it goes. Killer stuff.

Second favorite right now is Fats Band (studio plus live releases) plus Nick Currans first three albums. Great combo on shuffle. Not so good at bedtime, Fats hypnotizes you then Curran nails you with Little Richard style energy. But any other time it's killer.

Anybody else do this?

What? Use the shuffle capabilities of the iPod to be exposed to disparate styles of music within the course of one listening session?

Nope, no-one.
