Fender Pro Junior vs Vox AC15C1

both are 15 watts amps and are relatively clean sounding amp that sounds great when cranked. the Pro Junior is obviously much simpler and has only volume and tone knobs while the AC15C1 has all the adjustable knobs for reverb, trem etc.

In a live setting and in a recording studio, how would they compare?

thanks!

If you're wanting 15 watts, I'd choose the BLUES junior first, then the Vox.

Isn't the Pro Jr. 15 watts too? That's what the OP asked about.

Vox is a great amp with nice tone . The pro jr is a 1 trick pony. The Vox has better cleans and more flexability.

The Pro Junior is a sweet little amp, but it's not really in the same league as the Vox. The Vox just as so much more going on... Verb, trem, EQ, master volume. I'm pretty sure that what the PJ does is just scratching the surface of what the Vox can do.

Thanks for the insights! What I noticed is although both are 15 watt amps, the VOX is significantly louder.

And I agree that the Pro Junior likes to get dirty really easily.

The VOX has more EQ ability but somehow, to my ears the Pro Junior sounds warmer in the studio.

In a live setting, the VOX cuts through like butter.

I used to have a Pro Jr and currently have an AC15C1. Both are great amps and sound great. I've gigged both and personally prefer the Vox. The Pro Jr sounded really good, but lacked a bit of bite (I play classic rock and don't really require very much clean headroom). For me, the Vox edges it out, YMMV. I ended up selling the Pro Jr and it looks as tho the Vox is gonna be a keeper.

I have both Pro Junior and a Vox ac15TBX. I use the PJ for 80% of my gigs.
The Vox has more depth to the sound, obviously because the cab size and 12" speaker but to be honest the pro junior isn't that far off in terms of volume and headroom.
They are both great amps, the Vox has the edge but that's obvious when you consider speaker and cab size.

The C1 is a very good amp for the price. Much more useable than a Pro or Blues Jr. The Blues Jr isn't even in the same camp IMHO and as someone pointed out above, the Pro Jr is a "one-trick pony" type amp but very nice and simple.

I have owned the C1 twice over the last two years... both were equally good. I only sold the last one since a new Fender came into play that was more fitting for the material we're playing.

Apples and Oranges. One is a grab and go with that great Fender overdriven tone and simplicity. The other is heavy, with much more flexibility and volume but a great OD growl.

They are really nothing alike.

The Vox C1 is a great deal for the money. As others have said these are two very different amps which I have played hours and hours on both. The Vox is in another league. You can get rid of your OD pedals when usung the Vox. Needs more clean headroom but at 15 watts you expect that right? The AC 15 just has a classic OD sound and chime and cut. Right away you know you have something special when you hit it hard.
