prasie for the TC Electronics Nova Delay?

I am considering phasing out my Eventide Time Factor and replacing it with a TC Electronics Nova Delay (or something else you might suggest).

I'm looking for something that is :
a pedal
smaller
transparent
has multiple "patches"

tap tempo is nice but not required

Anyone got some feedback for me (pun intended)?

If you're going to buy a new nova delay, buy the IB Modified one on PGS. The pedal is great has 9 presets, tap tempo... the only downside is that scrolling through presets can be a little annoying but there are mods out there to make the presets foot switchable or you can even send it in to Jack Vaughn or T1M

Deja Vu

I have one.
Love it.
9 Presets is what sold me.
Sounds good.
If you are afraid of lots of options though...
But I suspect, that since you have an Eventide Time Factor, that's not a problem for you
I added a jack for the preset button.

I haven't had much experience with delay pedals but I have a Nova Delay and I can tell you it does everything you are looking for regarding your original post. There are other pedals that do more or have more tonal control, but for what the Nova Delay does it is definitely worth the money (especially if you buy it used). The repeats are very crisp and digital sounding, even when the knobby is set to analog or tape, but I kinda like that. Also, it has some cool subdivisions, dynamic delay is awesome, reverse delay is almost usable, slapback sounds good, and I am sure if I had a stereo set up ping pong and pan would sound amazing.

It is a very transparent pedal IMO

Hope that helps some, I highly recommend you go test one out at GC or something -- I'm sure your TimeFactor is amazing but if you are looking to downsize you could do a whole lot worse

I'm still not entirely convinced at how much the iB modified changes it, although obviously if you're given a choice of either of them at the same price, I'd take the iB modified. I was hesitant on trying a Nova after reading countless reviews because I liked my DD20, liked my old Timefactor, so it felt like the Nova wouldn't be as good. But now after getting it...sold my DD20, and it reminds me of my old Timefactor, just without as many different sound options.

I had the Nova and now have the IB Modified. I actually enjoy the memory lane Jr more... I may only used the Nova for a 7ms fattening delay now.

I used my iB Modified Nova Delay tonight for the first time at a rehearsal at a recording studio, and the studio owner said my pedal board was the best sounding one he's ever heard! He really liked my tones with the Nova Delay. I use it with a Flashback Delay that is set to Modulation. The two together sound fantastic. Everyone in the band really liked the Nova Delay - their jaws dropped when they heard it.

I recently got the two TC Delays after using a DD-20 and Echo Park for years. The increase in great tone is +1000!

I'm not sure on the iB Modified version either. My original Nova Delay rocks and sounds absolutely fantastic, definitely a step up from the DD20 and easier to use than the Timeline & Timefactor.

Honestly speaking the modulation on the Nova Repeater is miles ahead. The vibrato mod on tape mode is pure heaven in stereo.

Unfortunately the Repeater does not have presets, and the Nova Delay does not have Vibrato modulation, and the Flashback does not have more knobbies nor tap tempo.
Oh why can't TC rebuild a new powerhouse line like the Nova?

It has Audio Tapping (according to TC) or Strum Tempo (Digitech term) but not Tap Tempo. In orde to qualify for tap tempo you'd actually need another switch that enables you to either step or press that triggers and configures the tempo.

I have the original but use it in a bypass loop as I hear the AD/DA conversion when it's bypassed - I'd probably prefer the iB model.
I use it for dotted 1/8 tap tempo and for special effects like long pads and reverse delays.
If I had to do a small board travel gig it would be the one to take as it has the most options and the most useable tap tempo function...
