it does, but it's still a pain in the ass...in my opinion you are better off spending a little extra and getting a light body from Warmoth, MJT, or USACG, and starting the finish from scratch. A lot of times the fender Mexico bodies are multi piece and heavy.

a Heat gun works fine . . . but be prepared to fill in spots with wood putty and you'll need to sand - you also might not like what you see under there -
I had a Wine colored MIM Tele and it was made of several hunks of unknown wood . . . but, it ended up being one of my favorites and looks like this now: ![]() ![]()

Im not sure which guitars have what finishes but i have redone quite a few in nitro and have always stripped them with a heat gun and dulled scraper. The Jazzmasters seem to have a poly based paint and are a little more pain, but all the strats and teles are urethane and it comes of in big pieces with a heat gun, just set it low and try not to melt it, just heat it up til it starts lifting

Looks like he was gouging the wood with that screwdriver near the neck joint in the last vid.

i had a poly coated fender, and used a palm sander to remove all the paint. Worked great. Only tough part was the horns, since palm sander doesn't fit there. Had to use sandpaper on a dowel rod to sand it all off, worked great, repainted 2 of them that way, and i can't blame the poor paintjob on the sanding, only on my lack of patience on waiting between coats and wet sanding at the end.
