Best Fuzz with Humbuckers and a DRRI or AC30

I play through a DRRI and a 65 AC30. I only play Les Pauls or Gretsches..no single coils.

I'm after Mick Ronson and early rock sounds.

I know a lot of people just want to profess their love of their favorite choice they made in way of fuzz..but please it doesnt help me for you to say this or that pedal if you dont use a Deluxe Reverb or a AC30 with it and use at least humbuckers.

A Twin, Vibroluxe, or Marshall wont sound the same as a Deluxe or AC30 with any given pedal.

Fuzz Face? MK 1? what say you?

Haven't tried one, but Analogman created his Astrotone with that exact setup in mind (humbuckers>blackface fender).
In his own words : "Many people have problems using a Fuzz Face type pedal, like our Sunface, live with a band. I had the same problem which is one reason we are making these pedals, it’s something I need to get the sounds I want. I play Fender amps with a Les Paul, which is not too favorable to fuzz face pedals. But this pedal works great with that setup".

Well, I owned a DRRI for maybe 10 years and nowadays play a Dr Z Maz 18, which is very much in AC30 territory (and a bandmate plays an AC30 that I get some time with). First thing I'd say is they're very different amps, and any OD or fuzz is probably going to react differently with one versus the other.

Anyway ---- just go get a Fuzz Factory. They have an undeserved reputation for being difficult, and certainly you can get some freaky sounds by tweaking the gate and stability. But with the stab full on and the gate off, just dial in the fuzz level and compression to taste and you've got gorgeous classic fuzz, a tighter, somewhat more modern version of fuzz face. Play with the gate/comp interaction and stability and you've got a swarm of buzzy bees, great for a Ronsonesque solo...
