Amps that respond well to volume knob?
Wanting to know what amps you guys have played that are really sensative to adjustments to the volume knob on the guitar. I'm one who likes to ride the knob to get varied shades of clean to drive. So what amps can do this while relatively maintaining the same volume?

For high gain, Fryette amps are amazing at this. Earlier ('90s) and very recent ('11+) VH4(S) amps are very good, too IMHO (the '07 version I played was reasonably good at this, but the other years I played we're better).

All the three amps I have do that quite well: DRRI, 5E3 and 65 London Pro

The Vox Night Train 50 is exceptional in this regard. Perhaps related, the gain and master controls are incredibly even in their response from end to end.

Tweed. Champs should have their volume know hardwired to dimed. Deluxes work similarly, though I stop short of being fully dimed.
This sort of thing is a hallmark of Phaez. Goes hand in hand w/ touch sensitivity.

Sebago Sound Double Trouble does. It's a Dumble Overdrive Special clone and man is it sensitive to subtle changes. Also for people that over play (too hard and/or bad technique) you will pay the penalty big time.

You are generally describing what Trainwreck style amps are known for. You might check out some of those clones.
