Alright, I've spent years looking... Does anybody make a good 20-30 watt Plexi?

I've been looking for a nice Plexi style amp between 20 and 30 watts for so long and nothing seems to really fit the bill. I would prefer it to be tube rectified, more along the lines of a JTM45 or JTM50. I also prefer a master volume or power scaling. It doesn't need to be an exact early Plexi clone but I want to be able to get those tones. I also like good cleans. Something two channels may even work. Reverb is a big plus. I play stuff like Hendrix, Allman Brothers, Cream and Free as well as originals in a similar style. Does ANYBODY make something that does what I described?

Reinhardt JKC33 or LT-1.
Sentinal.

A PPIMV can be added to any marshall circuit relatively easily by a good tech.

2 channels and reverb..meh..you're straying frm the formula too much.

Metro with a MV,
Germino with an attentuator (or added MV)
Reinhardt (used Bob's on hiatus)

Lots of good choices really.

Why not a JTM45? It's 30 watts.

Is it? I've heard they're 45, 36, 40, etc. I've never heard 30.

They're 'approx' 30 watts...clean...wich is about 3 on the dial.
Crank it up to verdrive, it'll put out 45-50.

A dimed 50 watt will rock almost 100 at full tilt boogie.

All the clips of the Reinhardt LT-1 have floored me. It's a shame Bob is out of business. What a smokin' amp.

Have you looked at Fargen amps? The olde 800 comes in 25 watt and has master vol.

The Fargen seems cool. It's a bit more than I would like to spend though. Is there anything in the $1500 range?

Stuck used there.

Don't discount the modded 18 watt style amps. Reinhard 18 and MI-6 (6v6 version) get pretty plexi-ish for around 1200 used with scaling.

I picked up a Germino Masonette a couple of weeks ago and it nails the classic plexi tones. 25 watts. Has great cleans up to a nice gig-able volume, but breaks up very gradually and beautifully after that. The volume rollback cleans are outrageous too, especially if you are rockin a rangemaster-style treble booster. No master though.

Yeha I modded my JTM45 to approx. Massonette specs. But I included a master.
25 watts marshally running 6v6's is pretty damn sweet.

i had a 2061X HW.
I thought it was amazing.
I wouldnt pay what they are asking for them new, but you can find one used for less than 1500. you do have a lot of options in this range.
The 2061 sounded great and was pretty damn loud for its wattage.
A lot louder than i thought it was gonna be!

2061 wasn't bad at all. I dug that one I had. But for the same dough, too many things now with power scaling that can cover it.
Reinhardt (used)
GDS
Suhr Badger..tons of stuff. The Suhr's a bit less traditional marshall to my ear but a good tone.
Avatar's 18 watt seems to be gettign some good reviews, as is their 45.
