I always dug There is a Mountain when I was a kid.

The lock upon my garden gate's a snail, that's what it is.
The lock upon my garden gate's a snail, that's what it is.
First there is a mountain, then there is no mountain, then there is.
First there is a mountain, then there is no mountain, then there is.
The caterpillar sheds his skin to find a butterfly within.

First there is a mountain, then there is no mountain.
Oh Juanita, oh Juanita, oh Juanita, I call your name.
Oh, the snow will be a blinding sight to see as it lies on yonder hillside.

Donovan had excellent songs that I would still do in a band (if I thought 60s were still acceptable, but they are getting a bit too dated now).

Sunshine Superman is total fun song to sing if you ever do a solo act, though, and people love it. There is a Mountain, Where your Love like heaven.

He also wrote (or broke) Season of the Witch as I recall

I saw him open for Yes back in the seventies. It caught me off-guard in that it was a great show. He's excellent live. I heard he's touring again after a long absence from music. Go see him if you get the chance.

Didn't Duane and Dickey quote this melody for a few bars during a jam in one of the songs on Fillmore East?

Yep Mountain Jam. Epic!

Jimmy Page is on early Donavan records from when he was a session man.

A concise rewording of Hutton's Principle of Uniformitarianism. All the geologists here will know what I'm talking about.

Yes, but Alan Parker played guitar on HGM.

There are so many stories about what Page played or didn't play on.

Always thought hurdy gurdy man sounded pretty heavy for its time, love that opening fuzzy string bend at the beginning
