Your Favorite Marshall Tones

In honor of the Father of Loud, name the guitarists who got the best tones out of their Marshalls.

I'll start with Billy Gibbons. Pearly Gates into a Super Lead.

Song Remains the Same soundtrack album (especially the re-release with more songs added) has the best Marshall tones in different shades of gain via the guitar's volume knob.

the funny thing is, those are ALL correct answers!
and no one has mentioned James Marshall Hendrix yet, eh?
I'd say he got a few nice tones out of marshall amplifiers.. the early stuff in particular.
But John Mayall's Bluesbreakers feat. Eric Clapton AKA BEANO will always be a benchmark of the arrival of some kind of new tone...

For Marshall Metal tones my votes go to:

Wolf Hoffman on Accept's Balls to the Wall album

Iron Maiden on Piece of Mind

Slayer on Reign in Blood, South of Heaven and Seasons in the Abyss

Dave Prichard on all the Armored Saint albums he played on

Trey Azagototh on the first three Morbid Angel albums (Death Metal with MIDS!)

I've got a 1982 JCM800 2204 half stack that needs to be cranked today in honor of Jim, thanks for my all-time favorite guitar amp, RIP.

Cheers,

CJ

Good one. Technically it was a modded amp though.
