Connecting a pedal both infront of the amp and to effects loop

Hi,

I usually connect my Hardwire Stereo reverb pedal to the effect's loop of the amp.

Since it is a stereo pedal I experimented today with connecting the pedal in front of the amp (Guitar=> Pedal+> Amp), while keeping it connected also to the effect's loop.

The result was that I received a much fuller reverb, but when increasing the reverb's volume, there was an unbearable screeching noise (I think it was a feedback).

Can someone please advise whether such connections can do any harm to the amp? What about connecting my Flashback delay pedal the same way?

I must say that on low volumes it actually sounded really good.

Thanks!

Some stereo pedals are actually two mono pedals configured parallel to each other, if the Hardwire is designed that way, then you should be ok. You will need to be careful about ground-loops. You will be running a reverbed signal into a reverb (or your delayed signal into your delay).
