I'm reading "The Walking Dead".

Have read the first 4 volumes and then last night starting watching the TV series from the very first episode (on Netflix).

The books have given me a whole new appreciation for the TV show. Where-as the books steamroll through the storylines, the TV show really takes time to flesh things out and also add new layers and arcs to the story.

Once I'm done with all of the books I'll end up putting the entire set up for sale here.

I think the problem with the TV show is that they take too MUCH time fleshing out these story lines - especially in season Two.

I actually liked that. If you have nothing but zombies and killing, it loses its impact. But at the end, things finally came to a head between Shane and Rick, just as the farmhouse got overrun by a zombie herd. Things had to build up to that. I want to read the books, but this is one of the best TV series I have seen in a long time.

LOVE that movie. Took a while to figure out that the younger girl was the same actress that years earlier played Mel Gibson's daughter in Signs.

I got a hardcover version for Christmas. Are the originals all really black and white? That's driving me nuts.

I'm sure they could have increased their ratings if it were a solid 40 minutes of zombie killing, but I thought it was pertinent because when you're not running/fighting, you must do things to survive. This means dealing with the few people who are left.

I agree completely, but it seemed like six weeks of boring for 1/2 episode of awesome. My limit is about three weeks of boring. Four if she's hot and the payoff is good...

I like both but the stuff about the TV show fleshing out more is probably why I like it better. I find the TV show more intense and suspenseful. Its just a very well made TV show IMO. I also really enjoy the guy they got to play Rick. He is great also. The comic book stays good for a long time so the TV show will have to put up for a couple more seasons but I have pretty high hopes for it. I know a lot of people who watch the TV show who have never read the comic so it seems very popular.

I just finished reading the omnibus. I really enjoyed it! The Walking Dead is really well written. The plot in the books definitely speeds along compared to the pace of the show. Anybody can/will die, that's what so great about the story!
