Best Scumback Speaker Combo for 2x12

I just purchased a 65 Amps Empire and I was wondering which Scumback speakers you would recommend for a 2x12 cabinet to go with this amp, I mainly play blues rock, classic/hard rock and punk rock so I am looking for speakers to cover these sounds. I am thinking of either a M75/M55 combo or a M75/Scumnico combo, if anyone out there has any ideas please let me know.

I just put a M75/scumnico combo in a diagonal 212 this morning. I've only played it at bedroom levels but so far it sounds amazing. I gave Jim at Scumback a call and it was between 2 M75's and the M75/Scumnico mix. He said the latter would give a little more chime and high end.

I've heard some say the M75 and H75 are the way to go!

I really like a J75/M75 mix for M style amps and a J75/H75 for D style amps...

I had the 100 watt M75, I'd say it was quite bass heavy, I'd stay away from the 55Hz given that experience. I went with the H75 LHDCs in my sealed oversized 2x12, but will say they are more focussed and better for mid to higher gain, kind of modern compared to a Greenback RI I had IMHO, but can cover the same ground voicing wise. For mid to lower gain, I have a WGS ET65, which has a lower voicing, is full and thick, more raw, and works well with lower output PAFs. I've tried many many many speakers to come to this.

Hey Gulliver,

What's your opinion of the H75 LHDC's for a clean tone? Can you get a decent fender type clean from them at higher volumes?

AKA: BMFUC combo.

My personal experience, buy 65 watt M75 and H75's if you can get by with 130 total watts. Max 50-60 watt amp. Get the FBI too; worth every penny... My 2c's.

Give Jim at Scumback a call. Tell him what sounds you're going for and he'll tell you what to get. I know the M75/H75 is really popular around here. Jim steered me away from that for what I was going for.
