Peavey Classic 30 amps / Jack Daniels

I need a ballsier small amp for gigging. Played a friends' Peavey Jack Daniels which is a version of their Classic 30. Twice played it, twice loved it.

Seems like the perfect amp for me but, does anyone know if the JD version is different and worth a few hundred bucks more than the Classic 30 model?
Some JD models are going for $1250 !!!!!! I can find nothing that suggests that the JD version is different, besides cosmetics. My friend tells me that they are quite different and "better" even tho he picked his up cheap.

Any input on either model would be greatly appreciated.

I doubt there's any real difference just based on my quick Google-Fu.

If it's anything like the Peavey Jack Daniels guitars, they're just a limited edition run, nothing different about them. There was very few made though if I remember correctly.

Here's one for 700 brand new http://www.cassellsmusic.com/product...mp-131750.html

They seem to have gone for around 500 on ebay used, there's one up there for 650 at the moment that isn't shifting.

Think of it as a Mercury vs a Ford. Chrome and nameplate. Same engine!
