Mid 40's band and More drama than General Hospital. Geez....

Well Id been lucky the last 10-15 years in the 3 bands I played and gigged with in that there was zero drama other than some heated discussions over timing.
Well in one of the 2 bands Im in now the crap hit the fan and somehow drug me into it.
The Drummer and singers wives apparently had a heated argument over something upstairs while they were drinking.
My bassist and his Girl tried too break the scuffle up and the Drummer and singer and their wives became angry with everyone.
Btw I was still in the basement next too my amp restringing and completely stayed out of any of the scene.
Well some how the arguing winds up down stairs and it turns from them all over each other too me and being in another band that is merely a Jam night is as big a deal as what happened with them earlier.
Anyways Yikes Im 47 with Grand kids and Refuse too be in nonsense drama like this.
I abruptly said Nope not playing and took all my stuff.
I thought these guys(the drummer and singer) were gonna get ugly when leaving as well.
For a bunch of pushing 50 cats they sure acted like 10 year old fools.
Too bad as these guys musically were really fun too play with..
Had too vent here folks and thanks.
Lolz Band Drama Lolz

Sell the treatment to Bravo! Sounds like a reality show. Real housewives of jam bands.

"while they were drinking" Says it all right there. lol

I feel your pain, sir. You're doing the right thing I'd say; seems best to pack up and go home when play-time starts getting out of hand like that. Hang in there.

Funny thing was they did a similar farce once before but it never swept me up into it before and they quickly made nice.
This was something different and honestly I cant think of what had changed too cause this from them.
Btw I have a thick skin and a Good right hook so even though Im taken aback right now over this Ill give her a go again if things make right.
This is almost as bad as when my first band in 9th grade was sleeping with each others girlfriends drama.
Boy was that a hoot.

Why are the wives/girls/gfs all getting together at band practice anyway?

If they want to get together that's fine but they can pick a different time than when it's scheduled to practice.... with the band.

Best course of action: You took it.

Had a similar sitch with two girls in a band, one was a drama seeking attention whore. So she's jawing it out with the other (normal) girl, feels she's losing, and turns to me. "I'm right, and you know it, right?"
"While I am present, I remain uninvolved."
