Am I just weird?

Just bought a full sized big muff today, and I must say, I'm in love! I haven't really liked many of the fuzzes I have tried til now, but I love the tone of this thing. However....................I don't see hardly any love for these bad boys or see them (or their smaller counterparts) on any TGP boards....any reason or am I just a little crazy??

Wait, meaning you don't see current-production muffs made by Electro-Harmonix, or you don't see any muff pedals? I'd say muffs are one of the top fivers right now; just that people are seeking out ones based on vintage units instead of modern ones.

Whenever I see one of the "am I the only one?" posts the answer is always: NO. YOU ARE NOT THE ONLY ONE.

Enjoy.

I recorded almost all my lead parts on an album with a big box Big Muff. There are loads of tasty boutique flavours out there, but none taste quite as same as a Big Muff IMHO (the pedal, that is).

Fact, the NYC muff us not popular amongst the tgp'ers but i always defended it. It was my first pedal and i love that big klunky box. Just wait untill you get some relic vibe going on. Plus if you wanted to you could probably fit two more pedals inside the case. It sounds good. Lots of mods for it too. I only had to trade mine when i got an older hyperion.

They're too cheap and too easy to get. Once they are discontinued and peeps are selling them for $800 each on ebay, everyone will love them.

yes. you are weird. without even trying one out everybody knows the current standard-issue muff ain't where it's at, not nearly expensive or rarefied enough.

Who don't love some muff? the bigger the better

You know in the 70s muffs were huge then toward the late80s
Little or no muff was the trend. In the late 90s- 2000s most muffs were
Trimmed down some Like a little landing stripp

I used the NYC RI Muff as my main distortion for about a year and a half or two years I think. They're definitely good pedals, but I will say that there are other pedals based on the circuit that I prefer. IIRC it was designed by Frantone too, so that's pretty cool. And I definitely agree with the above poster who said that they look really cool once they start getting beat up.

The modern Muff is a perfectly decent pedal.
Especially if it is pushing an amp slightly, You can get a really nice shimmer that way.
Its a little light on the midrange but well.... thats fuzz.
