MIDI Controlled WAH resolution

Hi all.

Im setting up the demos Guitar rig 5/ amplitube 3/ pod farm 2 to try before I buy for my MacBook.
Im using a Roland GR-55 as a MIDI controller for the moment.
I noticed the other day that I could not get a smooth Wah sweep after assigning any of the CCs to the wah on any of the SW programs.
Further investigation using Midi monitor reveiled that the MIDI data being transmitted appeared to be at a lower sweep resolution than I would have expected. I can get the full rangex 0 or 127 but not 1,2,3
I can watch the controller value on the GR-55 travel from 0 to 127 in 1 digit increments on it's display but the value on the mac ramps up in incraments of 4 to 10. This is clearly audible as a 'bittey', 'glitchey' sound as the wah is set when using the SW modelled Wah. (most noticeable when using a distorted tone)

Anyone else experienced this? Do you think that a dedicated MIDI controller (FCB 1010 eg) would give beter MIDI 'resoluition'.
Can you see the controller value jumping from 0 to 8 or 10 using whatever set up you are running?
Any solutions or pointer would be helpful?

There is a "rate " parameter on my MIDI controller that controls the interval data is sent. There may be one in the gr55.

Might also be able to tweak the virtual wah. On the AxeFx, controllable params have a "damping" setting that can be used to tame "zipper" effects.

Yeah, check the stuff you are running it into and see if there is anyway to dampen the data coming in. That setting in the AxeFX stuff is really critical for MIDI wah pedals IMHO. Without it the experience isn't very enjoyable at all.

You may also want to see if there is a calibration mode for your pedal. It could also be a dirty pot in there too.

I doubt it's a dirty pot, since OP says the GR-55 notes clean movement from the GR-55 itself, just not on his VST's.
