Smoking indoors with kids

Why is this not illegal ? It absolutely should be. You would rather your kids have all kinds of lung problems and cancer down the road than take your lazy ass outside? I have some family that chain smoke with babies in the house and it infuriates me.

Illegal? Probably never happen, but it so wrong.
When I was growing up my parents smoked in the house all the time, never thought a thing of it. Of course, that was long ago and a large part of the population smoked. With the knowledge that is out there about second hand smoke, the parents today should probably just be hung by their thumbs. I don't personally know anyone that does it these days.

It was bad, in the 70's i grew up in a house of Marlboros, when the grandparents came, or we went there i had brown snot and couldn't breathe.

My sinuses have been shot for a long time.

My friends never wanted to come to my house because they said it stunk.

I was so happy when my mom quit smoking when I was 15. I have friends who have a child and they go outside to smoke and they aren't even geniuses. Why risk it?

I think the best way to combat it is education.

Both of my parents smoked, which is directly attributed to my Asthma I had as a kid. But back then, 4 out of 5 doctors said Lucky Strike's were good...LOL

Because banning something has worked so well in the past.

Close.

The best way to combat it is ridicule.

No need to make something illegal when we can simply ridicule it to death.

They should.... But they won't. They'll say how bad it is and how much it's costing health insurance companies but what they'll never tell us is how many tax dollars it brings in. Hell, I smoke and I'm all for banning them outright. Don't sell them and 95% of the smokers will stop. (The other 5% who arent as lazy will just roll their own).

But they'll just talk and talk and talk about how bad it is and then sit back and watch the tax dollars roll in.
THAT is the part about the anti-smoking campaign that really pisses me off.

Yep...it's some nasty stuff that probably knocked down my VO2 max. I lived in a house with cigarette smoke and rode in many cars full of smoke on long rode trips as a kid. I often wonder if that's why I've been able to push my endurance and higher altitude sports only so far.

See: Prohibition.
See: Marijuana laws.
See: Ahhhh you get the idea right?

How about we ban your favorite habit instead? And no, I don't drink or smoke anything.

Let me get this straight. You smoke, but you are saying that the only way you can/will quit is if the gummint makes you?

-and you're bitching about the gummint because they won't make you?

Can you not understand the health risks of smoking and quit on your own? Are you not an adult who can think and act for yourself? You need the gummint to step in and be your nanny?
