Anyone use noise canceling hearing protection at work?
Lately I'm working in an area that has a high level of industrial noise. I use ear muff hearing protection but it still makes my ears ring at the end of the day even though I think the level of noise inside my hearing protection is within OSHA limits.
Anyone use noise canceling hearing protection, does it work for industrial noise? |

I use them for shooting, and they're fantastic. Different stuff though - they're designed to attenuate when loud bangs happen.
In the non-industreal realm, I've owned damn near every set of noise cancellation headphones made before I gave up and went to Ety ER4ps. One of the things I learned is that for noise cancellation to work, there needs to be a steady noise for them to cancel. For example noise cancellation tends to work well on a plane because of the drone of the engines, but they don't cancel crying babies well. I would think the technology would work really well anywhere there's constant noise. I actually use blue Hearos any time I'm exposed to constant noise and I can't listen to music.
