"Gained up"? I guess that would be a Mark Kane built Trainwreck Liverpool 4xEL84 head.

Favorite boutique head (I run it clean): Greer Thunderchief (4x6V6 powered, inspire by Vox AC30 Top Boost).

6V6 - Granger V20
EL84- Guytron GT-20 (combo)

Two completely different sounds, but both great. The V20 takes OD and boost pedals great.

65amps London - EL84's
Bogner Duende - 6V6
BUT....
I have a Glaswerks SODII 4x6V6 Bluesmaster on the way that should be about one of the sweetest 6V6 amps out there.
I'll know soon enough....

El 84 (tie) Sommatone Roaring 40 and Matchless DC-30 very different but very beautiful.

6V6 (easy winner) 65 Amps Tupelo

The Tupelo nails the Keef sound of Sticky Fingers and with the power scaling is one of the most useful amps I own. The Matchless will always be a favorite but the Sommatone has its own thing going, to hear clips check out Jason Isbell, and is a very dynamic colorful amp. Buy all 3, I did!

EL-84: Reinhardt The 18 and my Budda Twinmaster head and combo
6V6: At Mars Specialist

Combined: I used to own a Mesa Boogie Blue Angel; I'm tempted to buy it back from the owner (it was part of our deal). That amp is a rather-unsung classic: it sounded glorious with running either set of tubes, and combined it really did give the best of both worlds.

Matchless C-30 for EL84s.
65Amps Empire for 6v6s (it doesn't sound like a typical 6V6 amp, it sounds like 3 different types of classic Marshall).
