NGD: Custom La Cabronita Build *Almost* Finished
I am finally pretty much done with my custom La Cabronita build! All that remains is replacing the TV Jones Classic Plus with a TV Jones Power'Tron Plus, just to get some more meat. This is an alder body with a quartersawn maple neck w/zircote fingerboard, 6130 frets, and a 12" radius. I went with locking tuners and a Gotoh bridge.
Warmoth did a pretty decent job on the neck, but I found I needed to fix some fret level issues, so I gave her a full level and redress. The corian nut (which I'll eventually replace) needed to be tweaked, but I expect that when I order a neck. I have a tortoise pickguard on order to see if I prefer that look, but I'm thinking I may stick with white and add a pinup decal.

Great Job! Looks nice. Zircote fingerboard looks classy, and I kinda like the white pickguard, gives a nice contrast. I bet that is a lot of fun to play.
Makes me wish I had my build already done. Soon, I too will have a home built NGD to show.

I bought a zircote board for the first Tele build I ever did, and I absolutely love it paired with TV Jones pups for the brightness you get off the fingerboard. It also looks killer.

My tortoise pickguard came in today, so I slapped it on to try it out. My wife likes this one much better, but I'm on the fence. Here's a before and after:

They both look good. I think the tortoise makes the guitar look more "expensive".

I love it!
I wish Fender would make the 2-pickup version with a rosewood board. Would buy one right away.
