Godspeed You! Black Emperor

GY!BE is doing a fairly short tour in October and I just got a ticket for one of two shows they're playing in Austin. These guys are, by far, my favorite post rock band and I've been wanting to see them live for some time now. For those of you that have seen them live before, what's it like?

Obligatory video of course:

Lucky you! They got announced for ATP NJ in September so I'll get to see them then.

Saw them twice last year when they came through NYC - once at a club and once in a big old Catholic cathedral. It's an audio visual experience - film loops and waves of sound, and if you are lucky (meaning if the venue permits it) they will turn it up and you will start seeing colors and stuff. OK, maybe not that last part, but louder is better. Not much of a "stage presence", more let the music do the talking. You are in for a treat.

Very cool...I have heard many hours of their live shows...1st time I've seen a video of them playing. Should have thought to "youtube" them earlier.

oh man. i missed them last time they hit NY, and they're not coming back around for these dates.

GY!BE is definitely best as a multimedia experience.
