Pedalboard suggestions please.
Hello,
I'm starting a new pedalboard project and I would like to find a pedalboard that is light and strong. I've tried the Gator boards, Lyte Boards and the Boss BCB-80's etc. The Gators were too heavy, the Lyte boards were too flimsy and the BCB type boards were too small. I was looking around and the Leprechaun boards look interesting and the Pedaltrain boards look light with the slat design. Ideally I would like one with a hard ATA type cover and not the canvas cover. This board will only be about 34" x 30". Does anyone have any suggestions? What do you guys use that's light, durable and affordable? I plan to start playing out soon and need something that will stay together but travel well. Thanks in advance for the advice. Bondo

34" x 30"? How are you going to reach that back row?

Nice! I hadn't seen those before. Those look awesome! How's the weight on those? They look like they've got to be pretty heavy being all wood.

Check out either islandcases on ebay or pockettrunks. They sell a cool case that is strong but doesn't weigh a ton, and they are priced very reasonably. I've bought two from them so far and they have worked out great. Just use the inside of the lid for your board, or I've put a Lyt 32 inside the lid which works too.

Ya, I was thinking, I have no idea of a company that makes a board that big, I cannot imagine a 30" deep pedalboard! The Pedaltrain stuff is great though.

That's a large board. I would suggest a custom build integrated into an ATA. The structure of the ATA will keep the integrity of the board intact and maintain it's portability and make it not as heavy.
A pedaltrain is a good alternative as you can easily order an ATA case in the proper dimensions. Make sure you get wheels built into the ATA case.
