+1 for Neil Young

Also, Peter Frampton's LP on "Frampton Comes Alive" comes to mind.
If you like LPs with P90s, there's Tom Scholz's LP on the first two Boston albums.
Leslie West of Mountain played a LP Jr.
The Rev played 'Pearly Gates' in early ZZ Top

Thin Lizzy, The Boy's are Back In Town, and almost everything else they ever did.
Kiss, Hotter than Hell.
Alman Bros. I was Born a Ramblin' Man. (don't know the actuall title though).
Styx, Too Much Time on My Hands (guitar solo).
Paul Mccartneys part of the guitar solo on "In the End"
Niel Young (thought his LP had P-90's) "Keep on Rockin in the Free World" and "Hurricane".
I think a "classic" LP sound is as varied as the guitar players and amps they used are. In otherwords, there is a ton of 'em and like strats they all sound great for the songs they were used on. Good Luck.

Waitin' For The Bus - ZZ Top

One Way Out - Dickey's solo in particular.

The lead break in "Heartbreaker."
