Decent *cheap* digital delay pedal?

Just looking for a basic pedal, nothing fancy. Is the Ibanez DE7 okay?

Don't know about that one but a Dan Echo is a good cheap delay.

I think the DE7 is a great value. Very affordable, the echo mode sounds pretty good, and cool self-oscillation.

I think a used Boss DD-6 is a good deal...depends if you mean $90 "cheap" or $30 "cheap" though.

I see Boss DD-3s in the $65-$75 range often. Consider that one.

Ibanez EM-5 Echo Machine is great for the $$$.

You can find great, cheap Analog Delays too with a little hunting - Arion SAD-1, etc.

Boss DD-3 has good delay for a "cheaper" delay pedal

Yeah, cheap is subjective. I've only heard good things about the DE-7, Boss DD-6 (ebay) and DD-3, Digitech Digidelay, marshall echohead, whatever.

I think the marshall will be your best bet, with great bypass, versatile tones, and reliability.

This is a thread where a dude did some samples with his echohead:

Ibanez DL-5 I like it better than the DD-3 or DD-5.

I think the Rocktron Short Timer is one of the best tape emulation delay pedals there is. It is warm and "organic" sounding, and is dirt cheap to boot. It does have some problems though. Mine pops sometimes when the footswitch is engaged and it's not true bypass. But other than that, it's the best sounding delay I've heard yet.

used digitech digidelay. beats the boss stuff, imo, mainly because you can crank an od pedal into the digidelay and it won't run out of headroom and distort the repeats. Tape delay, modulation, tap tempo... pretty good little unit.
