Fulltone Clyde or Deluxe

I'm looking into getting a fulltone clyde wah. are the extra settings on the deluxe useful and worth the extra dollars?

No...

I never used them. I liked the whacked setting and I messed around with it at home here and there, but I only used the Jimi setting which is just the regular Clyde setting and sounds like a stock Crybaby. The volume control is ok but there again never used.
After a while I thought it was kind of stupid to have it and I sold it for a stock Crybaby wah that I had before. The Jimi section and the stock Clyde sound identical to a stock Crybaby; save your money.

i went to buy a crybaby(5 yrs ago or more) and the salesman urged me to try the clyde side by side, and he ended up making no sale at all that day. The clyde sounded mucho better than the crybaby, but i only had enuff dough for the crybaby and i couldnt bring myself to do it. couple weeks later bought a friends clyde off him and never looked back. The clyde just seemed to have an almost vocal like quality to it. Not to mention the build quality

I have the deluxe, and keep coming back to it. I have it on there now, and plan to ping the guy that makes the mounting plates (again).

Into a high gain amp, its pretty nice when its on the whacked setting. I only use the volume at the maxed setting.

There is a trimmer inside, but I never touch it. overall very nice wah.

I think the Deluxe is very useful for different sounds depending on what pedals you're running for each part used; it's nice to not have the same wah sound all night (though I don't use the Shaft setting). The volume control is nice, as is the status LED on the Deluxe... If you have the extra cash and like to play with sounds, the Deluxe is a bit expensive, but a good buy. If you're just looking for a quality wah, the Standard does the job nicely with no frills.

I like my Clyde Deluxe a lot, pricey yes but I use Wacked setting all the time, LED is a nice touch, I like the volume control for a slight boost when I kick the wah in.

Well, I own the Deluxe, and I have to say, the Shaft setting is my favorite, with the gain toned down to 3.

Perfect for 70's porno music......

I'm completely happy with my Clyde Standard - I don't think I could go back to a regular Cry Baby type sweep range...

I have the Deluxe. The options are nice to have, but, like many others, I don't use them much. The Clyde has more range than a Crybaby and is more vocal than the few that I've owned with the exception of an Old Thomas Organ one that ended up being so noisy and unpredictable that I traded it for something else. I like having the options on the Deluxe, but if I had to replace it I'd just buy the regular Clyde.

Fulltone Standard! Ended my search for a wah. I find that I couldn't live without the extended sweepo range now that I've had mine for a few years.
