Chicago TopHat Tone Fest; Sunday, Oct 15th

A few members of the TopHat Amp Forum have put together a Chicago TopHat Tone Fest, in conjunction with Make 'n Music. The Tone Fest will take place Sunday, October 15th at Make 'n, starting at about 12:30 p.m. and lasting until about 4:30 p.m.

At this point, we have eleven confirmed attendees from the TopHat Forum. A couple folks attending are coming from out of town, while a few are from the Chicago area.

The Tone Fest should be cool. Some of those attending are bringing their vintage and early-era TopHats for demonstration. Teddy (Make 'n Music's owner) is also gracious enough to allow all of his current TopHats to be used for demo purposes - including the Supreme 16. Additionally, Teddy is allowing us to use the guitars at Make 'n - along with pedals as necessary - to demo the amps.

Additionally, Brian Gerhard (Mr. TopHat himself) will be flying in for the occasion. Thus, we will be able to ask any and all questions TopHat-related.

Teddy is also cool enough to make the store available to attendees that same day. Thus, for those of you that would like to attend, and have not been exposed to Make 'n Music's incredible stock of high-end gear, this is a great opportunity for you.

We have about a half-dozen slots left, for those interested in attending. I, along with my friend illinimax (member of both TGP and TH Forum) are keeping the official list of attendees. Thus, if you are interested, please PM me and I will add you to the list.

Our goal - along with Brian and Teddy - is to keep it a relatively intimate gathering. The subject and focus will be TopHat amps only. Even if you are not a TopHat owner/player, but are interested in these great rigs, this is a good chance to see and hear them - and meet the creator/owner himself.

Thanks for reading this, and thanks for your interest!

It sounds cool! However, vintage? Tophats Some of us are still arguing whether Marshalls can be called vintage if they have PCBs!

btw guys, I emailed the Administrator over at the TopHat Forum a couple of days ago to try to find out what the heck is going on with the BB, and I haven't gotten a response yet. My guess is that the BB got hacked again. And it looks like about 4-5 months worth of data is missing.
