Heritage Victory owners

Couple of questions about the combo (single channel) version.

How much headroom? Does it have a tube or SS rectifier? Is the low end loose or tight? How do you like the mid focus control?

Thanks!

Quite a bit more than you'd expect. In fact, if I had one gripe it's that I wish it had a bit less headroom or a higher gain input. This amp sounds huge for a 1X12!

Tube rectifier.

Tighter low end. Stays pretty focused at higher volumes... much moreso than a DRRI - not woofy at all.

the ones i played @ CB Perkins in San Jose seemed to have surprising amounts of headroom and low end. i really dug the reverb, too. opted for the head, because of this&that (FX loop instead of reverb, terrific master vol, etc.) (& i already had grab&go amps). the Focus control is great. i love mids, tend to boost & never scoop, so it really adds to the mid and treble controls. plus the package feels about 10 lbs lighter than listed. great amp.

I'll have a combo in a couple of days.......sounds like a very cool amp for my style. Looking forward to giving it a whirl!

Although, it is going to be very hard to dethrone the Tone King, methinks.

I think the Heritage amps are absolutely fantastic. Incidentally, I compared the Victory to a Carr Rambler the other day... IMO, there was no comparison... at half the price the Victory absolutely blew the Rambler away. EVeryone in the shop agreed.

Victory is a real winner!

Just picked up a victory head in trade. To say I am blown away would be an understatement. One of the nicest clean tones I have heard period - balanced, sparkly, as big as you need it to be, and clean without being too prissy, and when hotrodding it with the effects loop "trick" the high gain tones are simply earth shattering. I really wasn't expecting to love this amp this much but dang if this isn't the biggest surprise I have had in years. Why aren't more people talking about these amps...and if they are why aren't they shouting out loud about how killer they are...the best tele tones I have heard in 15 years! Wow! And so much tone shaping abilities between the cut, treble, 3 way brite switch and bass, middle, and focus knobs on ch.1 and the tone control on channel 2. Sweeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeet!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I have heard from several folks here on TGP with good ears that the Victory head is a super duper amp.

Just Got My Victory

My Victory combo, which I got on eBay last week at a great price, was delivered today. Woo hoo!

I wanted a grab-and-go amp as well as something I could use at home rather than my Custom Audio OD100 (so I can save the latter's tube life for gigs and recording sessions). The Victory is a wonderful amp! Very big sounding 1x12 combo, really sweet reverb, and plenty of clean headroom. I agree with Gregory70 that it may actually have too much clean headroom. Nevertheless, it takes really well to pedals. With reverb at 9:00 and some nice delay, you get lush 3D ambience. Bass is beautifully round, not a hint of flab anywhere. My semi-hollow sounds awesome through it. I like it better than my Bogner Shiva combo, which will soon go up for sale. I don't feel like playing through the Victory is at all a come-down from the OD100.

It is indeed remarkable that more people haven't heard of the Heritage amp line. . . . which probably makes it a great time to get one at a good price. I wish it had an effects loop since I hate running delays through the front of the amp, but not a biggie. The tube biasing feature is a major plus. But best of all, this combo is really light, which my lousy back will really appreciate.

Kudos to Heritage!

PaulC helped me (over the phone) do a quick mod to my Victory to increase the gain a bit. I only eletrocuted myself twice (I'm not joking). It's a subtle, but noticeable difference. I actually added a switch to turn this higher gain mode on and off.

I will continue to endorse these Heritage amps. I haven't found anything that compares, even more expensive amps.

the Victory head has two channels, master volume (so, less headroom when you want that), and an effects loop (so, there's yer reverb & delay, etc. stuff)

It turns out capacitors hold a charge long after the amp is turned off - who knew?

Patriot and Victory

Have any of you good folks tried both the Heritage Patriot and Victory amps? If so, can you compare and contrast?

Thanks,
