New Tele gave New Tune

Hi,

The great guitarist also known as Marinblues has demonstrated what he can do with a Tele so naive as I am I thought that if I got a Tele I could also sound good.

I bought the Tele and while I'm happy I did I sound nowhere like Marin.

The guitar (see pics below) did inspire me to write a fast shuffle in the guitar friendly key of Bb. He he! I had a blast recording it. The guitar is brand new and I haven't learned the nuances of it yet so I'm looking foreward to working with it a lot more.

Here's the tune called "Tele Marketing":

My digital camera sucks so the pictures aren't great but I couldn't resist a pic next to it's CAR sibling. Both guitars look great IRL.

Cheers,

Mats N

Nice! What did you use for the backing tracks? The horns sound great! Tele has a nice tone, and a cool title.

Hi Scott,

The backing was made in Cubase 4 using NI Battery 2 for drums, SampleTank 2 for bass and piano, NI B4 II for Hammond organ and I found some horn riffs I sliced together and transposed and altogether fooled around with to make them fit the track.

Thanks for listening!

Cheers,

Mats N

Very cool :AOK BUT you use the wrong pickup on the Tele .
So when can we download (and pay) for this great backing?

Hi Anders,

Thanks for listening but did you listen close enough?
I switch from the neck pu to the bridge pup for the last two verses.

It looks great. Kind of Burgundy Red. (?)

Hi Marin,

The guitars are both Candy Apple Red but the pictures do not convey the cool finish.

And yes, it was the Boss GS-10.

Cheers,

Hi Niels,

Glad you liked it.
The Tele is a hard one to play. Compared to my other guitars it's an ornery beast, but fun in a certain primitive way.

Cheers,

Mats N

Hi Chewy,

It's an Edwards TE-86CTM (made in Japan) in Candy Apple Red with Duncan pick ups as standard. I've tried a lot of teles and apart from a Suhr I couldn't afford this was the one that spoke to me.

Cheers,

Mats N

I slightly regret buying the PODxt instead of a GS-10 or GT-Pro. The reason was that I already had some COSM amp models on my drum machine do didn't want a "duplicate".

The Pod surprises me positively sometimes though....
