Callaham Strat Aluminum Pickguard shields?

I see they have these full sized shields that are pre-drilled for different model Strat's hole configurations.
Anyone try these and with what results?

Thanks.

I think I have one on one of my Strats. It came to me that way, and I just took it apart the other day. I can't say it seems to be any less noisy than my other Strats with the normal shielding on them.

Thanks for the reply. I planned on putting it on an EJ Strat. It seems to be pretty bad about the static charge build up on the guard.
Maybe the thin one ply guard is more prone to that?

I put one on a '57 strat type guard/harness and it was really nice. Perfect fit and nice grade/gauge of aluminum. I have no idea if it helped with shielding or not.

My EJ Strat had that problem, too. I rubbed the pickguard with one of those fabric softener sheets you put in the dryer. It took care of that static noise, right away. It only appeared once more, a few months later, and one more wipe has eliminated it, ever since. It has been several months.

I have seen people report about doing that. I just wasn't sure it it really worked and for how long.
I even pulled up one about somebody putting a sheet in the control cavities.
I'll give the "wipe" a try!
Thanks,
Keith

Maybe it goes by a different name down here in South Africa, or is there something else you can suggest?

Thanks
you put it in the clothes dryer when you are drying your clothes... it comes in a box with a roll inside... here is a common brand in the states:

solder a wire to the shield then solder the other end to one of the pots. that will kill the static prob from the pickgaurd. at least it always has for my strats and teles. hope this helps

I have a callaham shield and it works just great.....but I have to try the bounce sheet on another guitar with a pearloid guard.....the pearloid is actually translucent so the shielding I added made the guitar look positively miserable.

I like the shield so that I can crank down on the pot mounting nuts and not tear through the foil that would be there if I wasn't using the shield.

I had a gold-anodized Fender pickguard...I thought it made the guitar sound "funny" I changed it back to a regular plastic guard and it sounded better...anyone else notice that when using an aluminum Pickguard?
