Question EJ Stratocasters...

I just bought one of these but I don't get it until monday.

For you out there that have owned one for awhile I would
like to hear how you like it...

I see them for sale all over the place so I started to worry...
But it gets amazing reviews, I hope I will like it...

You will. Build quality is superb. Pickups, particular middle & bridge are absolute killer. Neck takes a little time to get used to but is very comfy once you do. You will not be unhappy...

I think the two tone burst EJ strat is one of the best guitars fender makes.

Just my opinion.

Is the neck sticky ?

The sunburst is the way to go! My fave color out of all the Ej colors available. I have tried 2 Ejs locally so far, they are really consistent between the two. The feel, tone and sustain of these fenders are really to die for.

You're gonna love it! Post pics when you get it

Congrats!

I have a black one with a black pickguard. It looks, feels, and sounds great. I was a guitar tech/roadie in a show tonight for a guy who has 12 different guitars. Gibsons, Fenders, you name it. His EJ strat was the most comfortable to play. That neck is great.

my neck was sticky at first but rub the hell out of it with 0000 steel wool and it takes the stickiness way down .after you play it awhile the sticky will go away.it just needs to cure. had mine a year and still love it. i think a lot of people freak out when they first play it thinking it is going to always be tacky. get it set up unless you like medium action. i like it low and with the 12 inch radius neck you can get the action pretty low.

It is a great sounding axe...
the only way I've ever been able to get a Strat
to sustain as much as the EJ does,
was to use EMG single coils which have a bloom factor to them...
However the EJ pickups sustain like humbucker's do (that is to say; much like a Gibson does)
Plus there's a wonderful Quack factor for funk & such...

With all that having been said,
unfortunately, I'm not one of those
who has been able to get use to the neck so far...
I may have to have it shaved down just a bit...still thinking about it.

I hope I don't have a problem with the neck.
My favorite neck is on my CS Clapton, it's got a fat V.

Do you notice much hum with the pickups ?

I love my CAR EJ. Played it for the first time at practice last night after having it setup. Sounded phenominal! Between the EJ and my Gold Metalflake Strat I've got it covered. I should just sell my Cunetto 50s and 1966 Stratocaster.

Just got mine the other day. Hands down the best Strat I have ever played. Don't worry about the neck, the sticky issue will resolve on its own. I think that beefy neck is the tone secret for this Strat. JMO

I don't play my EJ as my #1 so it doesn't get a ton of play normally, but the neck is fine after a few months (some say a few hours). I live in humid upstate new york (during the summer) and it was sticky most of the summer...now it's feeling really good.

it sounds like a strat is supposed to.

my neck was sticky at first, but i am a player not a collecter. so it broke in nicely. in fact, the guy that i jam with from time to time says that it is his favorite part. he (as do i) LOVES the FAT neck. you just can't beat a true nitro fender!

most people who do not like it do not like FAT necks.

i wouldn't change a thing

congrats on the new GUITAR! play the SH*T outta it!
