New GMW

Hi!

I am a GMW enthusiast. I have owned quite a few over the years, and this is my first of the new line (serial number G0006). Lee Garver doesn't make strat headstocks anymore. He designed 2 new ones, the millenium and the traditional, for his new line. Mine has the traditional, while the millenium is a pointy type.

I had one of those 'Wow' moments when I opened up the case. The color is breathtaking. The build quality is on par with any Suhr or Anderson I have owned, and it plays like a dream. It has an alder body, a figured maple neck with a 1 5/8 nut width, locking tuners, a 1055 bridge, and Duncan pickups. The headstock has a 3-d effect, it has a curved or arched top, and the tuners are at a slight angle. He wired the guitar so that the humbucker 'sees' 500K pots and the single coils 'see' 250K pots, much in the same way that most boutique builders do. I am more impressed by this guitar than I have been with any of his in the past, not that any of my others were any slouches either!

This guitar smokes!

I'd expect nothing but the best on the finish. I've had two guitars refinished by them, and I can't say enough good things about their work.

Beautiful guitar!

Lee and his crew are master craftsmen. He made me a custom Les Paul about 7 years ago, and it's still one of my favorites. It's not a GMW model, but still displays the same high quality craftsmanship.

Hey Macaroni,

I hand cut and inlaid that rose and logo. Has it been that long ago? I never did see it completed, mind if I snag that image for my scrapbook?

Hey Ron...

No kidding! So that was you? Did you do the rest of the inlay work too?

Of course you can have that pic! I didn't realize I had some Ron Thorn mojo in my guitar all this time.

Right on, thank you.

I know for a fact I did NOT do that purfling, that's Lee's crew's work. As far as the fretboard inlays go, I would have to see a close up.
If it's tight and gap free...it was me

Thanks Mike! I've got a set of WCR Goodwoods in there, and the 2 pots are push/pull for split coils on each pickup.
