Anybody using or used a MXR M-109 6B EQ?
Someone gave me this pedal and it sat or 6 months before I got to trying it out. I discovered this pedal to be sort of the missing link in my chain. I leave it on all the time at the beginning of my signal chain. I am using it to buffer the signal as it travels through 10 other pedals in front it to make up for the volume drop and sculpt my tone at the same time. This thing really did the trick in filling the holes in my tone such as adding hints of treble (3.2k) and bass (100 & 200 Hz) as well as dropping the mids (800 Hz) a hair. Seems best to use this pedal sparingly as is might sound artificial and phasey if pushed. Wasted a ass load of time trying everything else and all as I needed was a cheap little MXR graphic EQ. Sounds pretty good and is quiet for the most part. This is the cheapest pedal I own by far as i tend to use mostly small builders that specialize in in one thing and do quality work.
Can I do better than this? I would like to think so given the quality of my other pedals but maybe it is just fine. Is this ok for a buffer? What is your experience with this little beast.

First and foremost, welcome to the Gear Page my friend.
I tried out that pedal, and to be totaly honest with you just in my own opinion......... I thought the MXR 10 band EQ was unreal compared to the 6 band. Now it is an integral part of my rig. The frequency response is so much more diverse than the 6 band and the 10 band also has gain sliders that make the pedal a bit more than just an EQ. It also has a nice feature where all of the sliders have LED's on the top, so it is highly visible in darker settings if you need that. I am sure there are better EQ's on the market, but for the money and my budget, I am keeping this one forever. I have traded so many pedals in and out, but that MXR 10 band is one I have never even contemplated trading. I hope that helps you in some way. Take care and best regards, Mass

Thanks guys for the feedback, this all helps.
As far the M-108: I have no pedal-board real-estate what so ever. I would have to lose a pedal to fit this one in. I have worked every pedal into my live set several times, so that is not an option. I need a small foot print which limits me. I really like the eq idea to sculpt my sound sightly for each different room as well as getting a buffer/vol. boost. Not sure if the MXR stuff lowers the impedance like SBEQ or Morning Dew EQ does. I wish the SBEQ had a mid control, cause the size is perfect. I guess I could just boost the bass and treble on the SBEQ which would make the mids seem lower. I also may hit the freqs that I dont want boosted in which case the graphic EQ is the like suspect. There is also the the Boss GE-7 with the snipper mod I have read/seen but not heard. May be in the same ballpark as the M-109.
