Asuming you're in E9 tuning with at least an 'A and B' pedal and 4th string knee lever raise on the E (4th) string:
- play a G on fret 3, strings 3,4,5 open (or stgs 4,5,6, or 5,6,8, or 6,8,10, or even 1,2,5); these are the most common string 'grips'. - another G: 3 frets up, engage A pedal and 4th string raise (same grips) - another G: 10th fret A and B engaged. I,IV,V progession in G: 3rd fret open, 3rd fret AB pedals, 5th fret AB pedals. These are some very basics. There is some very good instructional material out there, but mostly available for purchase - either used or new. Jeff Newman courses are pretty good and have been used by a lot of people, myself included. The one called 'Up From the Top' is a good place to start. However, I really recommend that you find a teacher if for no other reason than to get started on the right track with regard to right hand mechanics, blocking, etc. You'll go much further much faster with a teacher. Good luck. |
