Pics of vintage vibe blades...

Howdy guys, does anyone have pics of vintage vibe blade in guitars as humbucker replacements? I'm thinking about these but would like to see them in. I've seen them in Jim Soloway's guitars but they don't appear to have mounting rigs round them, which as a replacement I would need.

Thanks in advance...

I'm scoping them for a tobacco burst guitar...

They use standard size HB rings. Pete can also do different fronts, surrounds and covers, so let him know what you have in mind and he'll do them to match whatever look you want.

Pete makes a damned fine pickup, and they're very reasonably priced.

Great support, too!

Thanks guys - speaking of which would I need a 16" radius blade for a Hamer?

Also, I'm kind of hoping to see what they look like in rings - not seen it anywhere. - Worried maybe too much plastic to look cool - i.e. main body of pup (except for the blade) AND the ring being plastic. Would they look better same colour or different etc.

Here's a pair with chrome rings and chrome surrounds. I know Pete has also made some with full covers where the blade is not exposed at all. As for the 16" radius blades, he made those specifically for our guitars. You won't need them with the Hamer.

Thanks Jim, Hmm, tricky choice for me. I'm thinking black rings, surrounds and centres won't look too great. Like a vintage look if possible. Cream, chrome and black? Dunno - may get messy.

...Given that Hamer supposedly have 16" board why wouldn't I need that?

THanks again.

You might want to try cream surrounds and a cream blade cover.

Matte has a JG set up with Charlie Christians that looked pretty darned cool that way...

Not a tobacco burst, but it might give you an idea...

That guitar looks great - but I've got three things to think about, rings, surrounds AND covers. - too much cream?

I dunno... the JG pickups are "all cream," for all intents and purposes...

Granted, it's not a "traditional" look, but then, neither is a blade pickup...
