It's a very solid system. You need ProTools LE 7.1.1 or better and Mac OS 10.4.6 or better.

Hey I just picked up a Mac Mini duo core and am running Pro Tools LE. Im about 2 months into the experience. No problems at all once I got the 7.1.1 version installed. You have to download it off the Digidesign website. So install pro tools and then go register on their site, download the necessary upgrades. Lots of other stuff has to upgraded as well(plug-ins etc). I think reason adapted had to be upgraded to 3.0.5. Maybe its already ok but you should look into it I can't remember right now. Just download every upgrade you can and install them. Im running it with an Mbox2 by the way. You're best bet is to upgrade the RAM right away. 3rd party is cheaper and as far as I know it works fine. Im in the process of ordering 2 gigs now. You'll run out of CPU power pretty quick if you want to add plug-ins and mix with liberally. The processor keeps up fine its just a lack of RAM. Apple cheezed out with 512mb as far as Im concerned. If you are using a USB Mbox learn how to use the Mix/monitor controls on it and the playback engine in Pro Tools and you should be good to go. All in all the Duo Core Macs handle LE just fine. Upgrade the RAM to as much as you can afford. Any questions just ask. I went back and forth for a while when making a computer choice to run Pro Tools LE on and I am quite content with the Duo Core. My biggest recommendation is to go with the Mbox Pro(if you're doing the Mbox thing) if you can spare the dough and ingnore the Factory bundle. The firewire ports would be nice for monitoring and the extra inputs would be handy down the road eventually.
